The day has come

It has been the number one issue at work, in school, at the dinner table, over coffee, on the bus and on prime time TV. We know the poll results, we've listened to speeches, seen the interviews and debates, read articles, dreamt nightmares (often including hillbillys from Ohio who could think of nothing in the world they would want less than an n-word president) and made countless jokes about the whole thing. All for what has seemed like a minor eternity. And finally the day is here. There has been several golden moments leading up to this finale, including fatal Palin interviews, countless McCain tongue slips and not to mention numerous of unintendedly hilarious Republican campaign movies. This clip on the other hand, is priceless:

And if there is someone still in doubt of where to put their vote, let's just resort to Hollywood! Where things are usually kept below normal complexity level... Obama had Bruce Springsteen perform with his campaign, McCain had Daddy Yankee. Obama has the support of Robert DeNiro and George Clooney, McCain has Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag...

It probably doesn't get any simpler than that.

(Speaking of which... Even though I am aware of that this eleccion isn't necessary as black and white as us Europeans will have it, I can't shake the reference to an old Swedish comic piece where we make fun of the Germans for thinking it might be a GOOD IDEA to vote for the Nazis... Keeping in mind that their party programme obviously stated loud and clear their promises of world war, dictature and throwing kids in big ovens. It's actually extremely funny!)
